WE NEED YOUR HELP! The Frugal Golfer is in the early stages of building a listing of the best golf courses that offer reasonable greens fees.
Sure, it would be great to pay Pebble Beach, but perhaps you can't stomach the $675 fee (plus $45 for a cart) to tee off. Shadow Creek in Las Vegas would be fun, but not at $1,250 for 18 holes! I'd love to return to Mauna Lani on the Big Island of Hawaii; I got to play there on my honeymoon several decades ago. At least it's a bargain compared to those other two courses, but it's still a pricey $200-$300 for 18, depending on the time of year.
We're looking for outstanding courses that, ideally, charge under $100US. But a truly world-class course that charges under $200 would still fit in our list.

(Initially, we'll focus on the U.S. and Canada, but we'll expand it worldwide in time.)
I'll start off this thread with a great municipal course in Colorado: Riverdale Dunes. It's an excellent links-style course northeast of Denver, in Brighton. Weekday standard fee is $47 for 18 holes; weekends are $57. Cart rentals are $18. (Dunes doesn't have senior rates, but seniors get a $4 discount on a cart.)
Because this is a great public course near Denver with reasonable fees, it's sometimes difficult to get a tee time.
