Annbriar Golf Course

Golf Digest has rated Annbriar as one of America’s Top 500 “Places to Play.” It is ranked 7th in the state of Illinois. Golfweek Magazine annually votes Annbriar as one of the “Best Golf Courses” in the state.

Bell Nob Golf Course

Municipal course in Gillette, Wyoming. Golf Week rated Bell Nob as the third-best course in the state in 2022.

Bolingbrook Golf Club

This semi-private club an hour outside of Chicago features elevated tees, rolling fairways, and seven lakes scattered throughout the layout, which includes a true island green par 3 and 600-yard par 5.

Cinnabar Hills Golf Club

Each hole has been crafted to maintain the natural slope of the area. Hundreds of old oaks were incorporated into the layout and seedlings from those oaks were planted to further enhance the landscape. Cinnabar Hills offers golfers three distinct nines: the Canyon, the Lake, and the Mountain.

Common Ground Golf Course

Common Ground, designed by Tom Doak, is the home course of the Colorado Golf Association. Despite its city location, the urban sprawl surrounding this excellent course is barely noticeable. (Rates lower for CGA members and seniors.)

Devil's Thumb

Located at the base of the Grand Mesa, Devil’s Thumb Golf Course offers both a spectacular golf experience and a panorama of the mountains surrounding the Uncompaghre Valley. This prairie style links is nestled into a swath of Adobe Hills, which is why golfers describe a few holes as, “Playing golf on the moon.”

Haymaker Golf Course

Haymaker is a challenging links-style course with native grasses and wetlands to enhance the wide open fairways. Created out of vast ranch-land and rock piles, the course is home to many elk, eagles, and blue herons. (Rates are much lower outside of summer season.)

Heritage Landing Golf & Country Club

Remastered in 2019, reshaping bunkers, redirecting the routing, and providing more visual aesthetics. It is part of a golf and country club community, but allows some public play (but no advance reservations; call on day you want to play).

Marianna Butte

This excellent Dick Phelps designed course sits along the Big Thompson River and is a bargain. It winds through rolling terrain, offering scenic Rocky Mountain vistas, elevated tees, rushing river holes, and true greens. Watch out for the elk that frequent the course!

Memorial Park Golf Course

Houston municipal course that hosts the PGA's Texas Children's Hospital Open. Greens fees are much lower for Houston residents ($38 weekend/holiday, $30 weekday); non-resident fees are listed at right.

Redlands Mesa

Rio Grande Club & Resort

The layout offers two very different nines. The front nine play alongside and over the Rio Grande. The back nine winds through pine, aspen, and cottonwood trees, and impressive rock formations. The back offers dramatic elevation changes and tee shots that have the feeling of hitting off the edge of a mountain.
