La Purisima Golf Course

The course at La Purisima has twice received 4-1/2 stars from readers of Golf Digest, including the 2004 poll (only famed Pebble Beach ranked higher), and at one point, was ranked as the 33rd most difficult course in the U.S.

Leatherstocking Golf Course

Legends Resort - Heathlands Course

Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State

This stunning layout was designed by Arnold Palmer and the design team at Arnold Palmer Design Company. The purpose of the facility is to provide a public golf course on the Centennial Campus of NC State University that serves as a venue for the men’s and women’s golf teams.

Madden's on Gull Lake - Classic Course

Consistently rated in America’s Top 100 Greatest Public Courses by Golf Digest, The Classic features towering oaks and northern Minnesota beauty. Some tee times require using a forecaddy, so you may not be able to play under $200.

Manakiki Golf Course

This classic Donald Ross design offers a variety of challenges including doglegs, water hazards, up-and-down shots, back-to-back par 5s, short, long, tight, and open holes, and two canyon holes.

Marianna Butte

This excellent Dick Phelps designed course sits along the Big Thompson River and is a bargain. It winds through rolling terrain, offering scenic Rocky Mountain vistas, elevated tees, rushing river holes, and true greens. Watch out for the elk that frequent the course!

Memorial Park Golf Course

Houston municipal course that hosts the PGA's Texas Children's Hospital Open. Greens fees are much lower for Houston residents ($38 weekend/holiday, $30 weekday); non-resident fees are listed at right.

Mirimichi Golf Course

Accuracy is key on this challenging course. It features deep pit bunkers, elevated greens, swathes of native grassland, waterfalls, and meandering creeks. The streams and greens are large and undulating.

Monarch Dunes Golf Club

Monarch Dunes is set amid windswept dunes and coastal vistas. Golf Digest named it as one of the 13 most fun golf courses in the U.S.

Montauk Downs State Park Golf Course

Montauk Downs was originally developed in 1927. Robert Trent Jones Sr. redesigned the present course in 1968 with assistance from his son, Rees. It was purchased by New York State Parks in 1980. The ever-changing wind currents off the ocean and bay can change the way the course plays each day.
